WHAT IS THE PTE EXAM?
PTE exam stands for Pearson Test of English. WHAT IS THE EXAM PATTERN?
The exam pattern of Pearson Test of English is quite similar to that of IELTS as it contains the following sections which lasts for the respective durations :
- Speaking and Writing - The longest section of the test which is 77 to 93 minutes long.
- Reading - This section lasts for 32 to 40 minutes.
- Listening - This section lasts for 57 minutes.

- Question - You will be given time to read and analyze the question depending on its length.
- Prepare to Answer - You will get 10 to 15 minutes to think of an answer to the question.

WHAT IS THE SELECTION CRITERIA?
If you want to appear for the PTE-Academic test, then you should be at least 16 years old and for clearing the exam, you will need at least an average score of 50 points for every skill test. The lowest score of this exam is 10 points and the highest score is 90 points. It is needless to say that the higher your points are, the better college or job opportunities you will receive.
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU CLEAR THE EXAM?
When you have scored enough marks to clear the exam, you will be issued a scorecard or a certificate which will be valid for two years after the date of declaration. This scorecard can be sent to a number of colleges and universities around the world and based upon their eligibility criteria, you will be given a chance to study there. It should be noted that unlike TOEFL, the PTE scorecard is universal and accepted by a majority of educational institutions in the world.
